  • Is solar or a battery worth it for my home?

    It depends on when you use power. Solar does most for you when you use power in the day. A battery helps when most of your usage comes in the evening, after the panels stop. Our free energy audit report works this out from your own bill: solar, a battery, both or neither.

  • Is the quote I got fair?

    Upload it and find out. The quote checker tests the price, the equipment and the rebates against current WA data. You get a verdict with the evidence behind it. The check is private: nothing goes to an installer unless you ask for quotes at the end.

  • How does the WA Battery Scheme work?

    It's a state discount on a new home battery for Synergy customers, paid per kWh up to a cap, on top of the federal discount. The battery must meet a minimum size, and you join a virtual power plant (VPP) for two years. Your installer applies for you, and it comes off your invoice. Amounts are in the rates card.

  • My inverter shows an error code. What now?

    Look it up before you touch anything. Find the brand on the inverter or battery label, then open its code page. It shows what the manufacturer's manual says the code means, what you can safely check, and when to call your installer or the warranty line. Don't open the inverter yourself.

  • What does my warranty cover?

    Each part has its own warranty. The panels, the inverter and any battery are covered by their manufacturers, and the installation work by your installer. If something goes wrong, start with the business that sold you the system: under consumer law it must deal with the problem. The warranty guide shows what to check.

  • How do I find an installer?

    Browse the WA installer directory by area and by what they install. Most listings come from the WA Residential Battery Scheme vendor list, and a listing isn't a recommendation. WattMate Members can take quote requests through us. Before you sign, check the installer's licence and SAA accreditation.

  • How does WattMate make money?

    We're independent and we're not the installer. Installers pay us a flat referral fee, never a percentage of your price.
