WattMate is an independent marketplace, not a licensed electrical contractor. We don't design or install solar systems — we connect WA homeowners with installers. Here's where our installers come from, what we check, and what to check yourself before you sign.
We connect Western Australian homeowners with independent solar installers. The design, the installation, the electrical work, and the warranty all sit with the installer you choose — WattMate is not a party to that contract.
Because we don't do the installation ourselves, the compliance that matters is the installer's.
WattMate Members have joined our installer network and can receive quote requests through us. Every other listing is a public record of WA solar and battery businesses, including those on the WA government rebate installer lists; a listing is not a recommendation.
WattMate Member: has joined WattMate’s installer network and can receive quote requests through us. Membership is granted by WattMate and can be removed. What we’ve checked is shown under Credentials on each Member’s profile: items under ‘Sighted by WattMate’ were checked against an official register or sighted by us; everything else is declared by the installer.
Every other listing: a public record of the business. We don't independently assess listed businesses, and a listing is not a recommendation.
Ask for the installer's current WA electrical contractor licence number and SAA accreditation, confirm their ABN on the Australian Business Register, ask to see their public liability insurance, and confirm they are currently on the WA government rebate installer list if the rebate matters to you. Compare at least three quotes.
These are the Australian Standards a compliant WA solar install must follow. WattMate doesn't perform the work — a current SAA accreditation and electrical contractor licence show your installer is trained and authorised to meet them.
Your statutory consumer guarantees apply to the installer you contract with. Nothing on this page — and nothing WattMate does — reduces or replaces those rights.
WattMate is free for WA homeowners. Installers pay a flat $30 inc GST referral fee, never added to your quote. See our disclosure for the exact numbers and why it keeps us independent.
Read the cooling-off and cancellation terms before you sign. The installation contract, workmanship warranty, and insurance all sit with the installer — not with WattMate.
