How reviews of installers get onto WattMate, what we check, and what we never do.
Only customers who came to an installer through us can review that installer. We invite you by a single-use link, or you review from your customer account once your job is complete. There is no open review form, so someone who never dealt with the installer can't post a review, and an installer can't choose who we invite.
Reviews are shown on WattMate Certified installer profiles. If an installer's profile doesn't carry a reviews section, that's because of their listing level, not because of what the reviews say.
A review marked verified came through one of those invitations, so we know the reviewer was a customer we matched with that installer. It doesn't mean we inspected the installation.
We show your first name and the first letter of your last name. We never show your email address. You can ask us to take down your own review at any time.
We never hide, remove or delay a review because it's negative, and we never edit a reviewer's words to change what they said.
Every review is held to the same rules whatever its star rating. We only take a review down for one of these reasons, and when our team checks a review before it appears, it applies these same reasons and nothing else:
Star ratings and averages are worked out from published reviews only, and every published review counts towards them.
The installer can post a public reply, which we show beneath the review. A reply doesn't change the review or its rating.
An installer can ask us to look at a review if they believe:
To raise a dispute, email us at admin@wattmate.com.au with the review and the reason.
Disagreeing with a reviewer's opinion isn't a reason to remove a review. The installer can reply instead. If a review gets a fact wrong, we may ask the reviewer to correct it; we don't remove a review over a disputed fact. While we look into a dispute the review stays up, unless it contains personal information or is abusive or defamatory.
We don't offer discounts, credits, prize draws or anything else in return for a review, and we don't ask only happy customers to leave one.
To raise a concern about a review, take down your own review, or ask about this policy, email admin@wattmate.com.au or use our contact page.
