21 codes documented in SolarEdge's inverter and battery manuals. Pick yours to see what it means, what you can safely check, and when to call your installer.

Battery codes

  • Battery Cell malfunctionOne of the battery cells is not functioning correctly.
  • Cell over voltageOne or more cells in the battery are over voltage.
  • Cell sampling faultFailed to read cell status.
  • Cell under voltageOne or more cells in the battery are under voltage.
  • Charging Over CurrentThe current while charging exceeds the limit.
  • Communication failureThe battery is unable to communicate with the inverter.
  • Discharge Over CurrentThe current during discharge exceeds the limit.
  • Module over voltageThe voltage of the module is too high.
  • Module Under voltageThe voltage of the module is too low.
  • Temperature sensor malfunctionThe temperature sensor is not functioning properly.

When to call your installer or the warranty line

Your installer is your first warranty contact. If they've gone, the manufacturer's warranty line still covers the hardware. Don't open the inverter or battery case yourself: work inside it is for a licensed electrician.

If you see smoke, scorch marks or smell burning, switch the system off at the AC and PV isolators and call your installer. If anyone is in danger, call 000.

  1. Try the free fixes first

    Most faults are an isolator, a WiFi drop or a known error code. Start with the lookup and guides above.

  2. Then call the people who are responsible for it

    Your installer is your first warranty contact. If they've gone, the manufacturer's warranty line still covers the hardware.

  3. If it's near the end of its life, see what replacing it would do
