Collection notice
The short version of what happens to your details when you ask us for a quote match. Our privacy policy covers everything else.
Who is collecting your information
WattMate is operated by WattMate Pty Ltd (ABN 27 687 682 220, ACN 687 682 220).
Your details are held and processed on the WattMate platform, operated by WattMate Pty Ltd (ABN 27 687 682 220, ACN 687 682 220). You can contact us about anything in this notice at admin@wattmate.com.au.
How we collect it
Directly from you — the forms you fill in, the answers you give in our tools and assessments, and any photos, bills or documents you choose to upload.
We do not buy lists, and we do not collect your details from anyone else.
Why we collect it
To prepare the assessment, report or quote match you asked for.
- To share with the licensed installer or installers we match you with, so they can contact you about your quote. Those installers pay us a flat referral fee for the introduction — that is how the service is free to you.
- To send you service messages about your enquiry.
- To send you updates you have separately opted in to. That is a different choice and never rides on the consent above.
What happens if you do not provide it
We cannot match you with an installer, and we cannot deliver a report. There is no other consequence — we will not contact you about it.
Who we usually give it to
- The matched installer or installers. They receive your contact details when the match is made and may contact you directly from that point; no installer receives them before a match.
- WattMate Pty Ltd (ABN 27 687 682 220, ACN 687 682 220), as the operator of the platform your details are held on.
- Service providers who work on our behalf: hosting, email delivery, SMS verification, and AI document and photo processing.
We do not sell your details to anyone, and nobody outside that list receives them.
Overseas processing
Likely — the United States. Some bill and photo reading is processed by our AI provider there, and parts of our infrastructure are hosted there. Those providers process on our behalf under contract, and do not train on your information.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop — including withdrawing your consent to share with installers, which also means we tell any matched installer to stop contacting you.
Email admin@wattmate.com.au. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
