How your bill is handled

To read your usage automatically, a photo of your bill is sent to a third-party AI provider for data extraction; PDFs are read on our own servers. We don't keep the file itself, only the figures we read from it. Those figures, your postcode and your household answers are saved to your assessment for up to 90 days after your last visit, and for as long as we keep your enquiry if you go on to ask for quotes. They are kept on this device too: your saved progress stops being restored after 7 days, and the basics stay until you clear your browser data. Prefer not to upload? What each path means for you

  • Solar only

    Panels reduce the power you buy while the sun is up. The strongest fit when your daytime usage is high — someone home most days, a pool pump, working from home. Without a battery, evening power still comes from the grid.

  • Solar plus battery

    Panels charge a battery through the day, and the battery covers your evening. This suits most households whose usage stretches into the night, and it is the combination the WA battery rebate is built around. It costs more up front, so the fit depends on your bill and how long you plan to stay.

  • Battery for existing solar

    Already have solar? A battery stores the excess you currently export for very little and gives it back to you in the evening. The fit depends on how much you export today — your bill tells us that.

  • EV-ready

    Planning an electric vehicle? Charging is the biggest new load a home can add. Sizing your solar and wiring for it now is far cheaper than upgrading later, even if the car is a year or two away.

  • Efficiency first

    Sometimes the cheapest kilowatt is the one you stop using. If your usage is high against the Perth average, fixing what drives it — hot water, heating and cooling, an old pool pump — can shrink the system you need to buy.
